Ginhawa is an ancient Filipino word which means breath, much like “qi” in Chinese, or “prana” in Sanskrit which represent life force. Ginhawa also means ease of life, relief from pain, discomfort or suffering. It is  equivalent of “spirit” in Cebuano and is associated with the Hebrew word for “peace” (shalom).

About the organization:
Point of Care Acupuncture Clinic was established in October 2006 by Dr. Jefferson H. Ong on returning to the Philippines from a three month long training in Quanzhou City, Fujian, China. The goal of the practice was to bring acupuncture and traditional medicine to the province of Bohol. He simultaneously started a practice in the city of Cebu having accepted patients for follow-up care from another medical acupuncturist.

Over the years, Point of Care Acupuncture Clinic became the name known to people who have come to integrate acupuncture and moxibustion as well as minimal-cost, wellness-based healthcare. It is the emphasis of the clinic to integrate fact-based medical approach and total well-being through the merging of Western scientific tact and Eastern holistic health principles.

Today, our goal remains the healing of the whole human being; body, mind and spirit. A goal we endeavor to attain through client and healthcare provider collaboration.
